bilateral common carotid artery occlusion rat (strain not reported)

The English availability of this content could not be established, so the Chinese version is the stable reference. 英文译文可用性待核实,以中文版为准。 查看中文内容 · Chinese version

Bilateral irreversible occlusion of the common carotid arteries produces subtotal forebrain ischemia with pronounced pathobiochemical disturbance and oxidative stress.

Model identity

Model name
bilateral common carotid artery occlusion rat (strain not reported)
Species
rat

Biological characteristics

Phenotype stage
Injury develops over hours to days; chronic changes require longer follow-up.
Research questions
Subtotal cerebral ischemia; oxidative stress; chronic hypoperfusion.
Limitations
The strain is not reported. BCCAO does not reproduce a territorial MCA infarct or penumbra, so focal TTC infarct measurement is not a valid primary readout.
